This Cookie Policy explains how BUDGETYEP uses cookies, browser storage (such as localStorage) and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Browser storage (localStorage) works similarly and lets a website remember information on your device. In this policy, “cookies” refers to both, unless stated otherwise.

2. Your choice: the consent banner

When you first visit BUDGETYEP, a banner lets you choose:

• Accept All — allows Analytics and Marketing;
• Reject Non-Essential — only Necessary technologies are used;
• Manage Preferences — switch Analytics and Marketing on or off separately, then Save choices.

Analytics and Marketing are off by default. No analytics or marketing tool is loaded through BUDGETYEP before you make a choice that allows it.

Your choice is stored on your device for about 6 months. After that, or when we add a new tool that requires consent, we will ask you again.

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the website footer or the button at the bottom of this page. If you withdraw consent, we delete the related cookies where technically possible and reload the page so the tools stop running.

3. Categories we use

We use three categories:

• Necessary — always active; required for the Service to work;
• Analytics — only with your consent;
• Marketing — only with your consent.

4. Necessary technologies

These are required to provide the Service you request (sign-in, security, payment, and remembering your consent). They cannot be switched off in the banner.

4.1 BUDGETYEP device storage

• byep-consent (localStorage) — remembers your cookie choice; about 6 months;
• byep-return-to (localStorage) — remembers the page to open after you sign in; 1 hour;
• byep-reminder-dismissed-[date] (localStorage) — remembers that you dismissed a daily reminder; until cleared;
• byep-install-banner-dismissed (localStorage) — remembers that you dismissed the app installation prompt; shown again after 14 days.

4.2 Sign-in (Lovable Cloud / Supabase infrastructure)

• sb-[project]-auth-token (localStorage) — keeps you securely signed in; until you sign out or the session expires.

4.3 Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies on its sign-in pages to authenticate you. These are governed by Google's privacy documentation.

4.4 Stripe (payments)

When you start a subscription or manage it, payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe may set cookies such as __stripe_mid (up to 1 year), __stripe_sid (30 minutes) and m (fraud prevention, up to 2 years) to process payments securely and prevent fraud. These are necessary for payment and are not used by BUDGETYEP for marketing.

4.5 App installation (PWA)

If you install BUDGETYEP as an app, a service worker stores static files (such as icons, styles and code) on your device so the app opens quickly. It does not store your financial records.

5. Analytics technologies (only with consent)

Loaded only if you allow Analytics.

5.1 Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager loads and manages our analytics and marketing tags. It is loaded only after you allow Analytics or Marketing, and the tags inside it follow your consent choices (Google Consent Mode).

5.2 Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 helps us understand how the website and app are used.

• _ga — distinguishes visitors; up to 2 years;
• _ga_[ID] — keeps session state; up to 2 years.

5.3 Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity helps us understand how visitors interact with pages (for example clicks, scrolling and navigation).

• _clck — remembers the Clarity user ID; up to 1 year;
• _clsk — connects page views into one session; 1 day;
• CLID — identifies the first visit; up to 1 year;
• MUID — Microsoft user identifier; up to 1 year.

6. Marketing technologies (only with consent)

Loaded only if you allow Marketing.

6.1 Meta Pixel

Meta Pixel measures the results of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, such as registrations, checkout starts and subscriptions.

• _fbp — identifies browsers for ad measurement; up to 90 days;
• _fbc — stores the ad click identifier when you arrive from a Meta ad; up to 90 days.

Automatic Advanced Matching is not enabled.

No other advertising pixel is currently active. If we add one in the future (for example TikTok Pixel), we will update this policy and ask for your consent again.

7. What we never send to analytics or advertising tools

BUDGETYEP is designed to send only minimum usage and conversion information, such as the page visited, sign-in method or chosen subscription plan and its public price.

We do not send:

• transaction descriptions;
• income or expense amounts;
• account balances;
• budget values;
• savings, goal or challenge amounts;
• private notes or financial category details;
• payment card information;
• passwords or authentication tokens.

8. Other technical requests

BUDGETYEP loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google receives technical information such as your IP address when fonts load. Google Fonts does not set cookies through BUDGETYEP.

9. Managing cookies in your browser

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking Necessary cookies or storage may prevent sign-in, payments or other features from working.

10. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We will update this policy when the technologies we use change. The current version shows the latest revision date.
